S is for School

"Emelie, it's your first day back to schoool, GET UP!" I heard a voice scream up to me. I shoved my head under my pillow, and pulled the covers up to my ears, hoping that I wouldn't hear that voice again. Unfortunately I did, and eventually HAD to get up so that I was not late for my very first day back at school.

Summer is over, and school is starting. Some disapointing words after you just had an amazing summer.

There are many things that happen at school. The first thing that most people think of when they hear the word school, is HOMEWORK. But there is way more than just homework going on at school. At my school, there are many activities you can do. Like sports and choir, things like that. And the sports switch up every term.

First term, I never really got into sports, but I can choose from field hockey, basketball or cross country. I'm either trying field hockey or basketball..I'm supposed to play basketball with my best friend...but I don't really know if I want to. I also take part in the choir every term. It's a lot of fun.
Second term, I play volleyball. It's a lot of fun! We travel to all kinds of schools to play them. We may not be the best team, but we have fun playing the games.
And finally third term, I play soccer. I used to be a part of the track team, but I decided to switch it up and try soccer. It is a lot of fun, especially since we're a big team.

The thing with doing extra things at school, is that I have to be careful with what I choose, so that I can balance it with all of my homework. Falling behind in school wouldn't be fun. So, school always comes first.

So besides all of the homework that we think of when it comes to school, there are things like I mentioned above that you can participate in at school. Another thing I can't forget are FRIENDS. There are lots of people to hang out with and talk to. So really school isn't all that boring.

But it seems to fly by..

"Emelie, did you remember to get everything out of your locker?" My mom asked as we walked out of the school. It is now Summer, I realized!

Life Lesson: Make the best out of something, there are always ways to make certain activities fun.

D is for Dogs!

"EMELIE, I told you to take the new puppy outside..now we have to clean this nasty mess up!" "Ewww" I thought to myself. But of course I had to clean it up anways.

When you first get a puppy, little accidents like the one above are expected. Usually for the first little while that happens quite a bit..until they are "potty trained." Some things may get chewed, like from my experience with having puppies I know that a lot of things get chewed. My puppies chewed my phone, my converter, my sisters glasses, the island in my kitchen and many other things. Puppies are a big responsibility.

If you want a puppy, you have to be willing to care for it, you need to keep it's health up and make sure it receives all of the shots/vaccinations that it requires. Dogs have to be fed, given water, brushed, walked and loved. All of those things are important when it comes to dogs!

I have two dogs myself. One is a boxer, he was the first pet that I had ever had. I got him when I was in Grade three, which means he is now 4 years old. His name is Max. Max is such a loving dog, but usually peoples first impression is that he is scary, and they don't want to meet him. Max is allergic to all dog foods so he requires a lot of attention. Now, you must be thinking "what in the world does the dog eat if he's allergic to dog food?" Well he it's plain white rice, and we usually mix in some other things.

I also have another dog, she is a bulldog. Her name is Sophie, she came second. She came when I was in Grade 4, which means that she is 3 years old. Now when it comes to first impressions of Sophie people think she is the cutest dog ever, because she is so little. But they have that wrong, Sophie is very mean to people she does not know, but once she gets used to you she isn't as mean. Sophie isn't allergic to dog food like Max is, but we thought it would be easier if they both ate the same kind of food.

Max and Sophie are my doggies and they are very adorable, and my family and I love them dearly! Although sometimes we get lazy and don't feel like walking them, we know it has to be done because we took the responsibility of owning two dogs.

"Emelie, let the dogs out to go to the washroom!" My mother shouted from her bedroom. "Thank goodness they are "potty trained" I thought to myself!

Life Lesson: Think about the responsibilities and consequences before you do something!

S is for Summer

Summer is the warmest of all four seasons, between Spring and Autumn. It is marked by the longest days and the shortest nights.

It is my favourite time of the year, I love the hot weather, and the world just seems so much more colourful, and everyone seems happier.

The Summer is so much fun. I love it because it's like 3 months of freedom, there isn't any school, and there isn't much to worry about, just having fun and hanging out with friends. Some people go to camps and other things like that, but I honestly cannot stand anything like that. What I like to do is sit around in the sun, and tan. To me the Summer is relaxing, I don't really have much to do during the week days because my momma and daddy WORK! Boy do I feel bad for them, but then again i'm stuck babysitting my brother which is not the funnest thing, but I can't really do anything about it. Then the weekends come and it's a blast!

My family own's a yacht, and a seadoo boat. So on the weekend's in the Summer we enjoy going down there. We stay for the whole weekend, and bnoth of my dog's come. We sleep on the yacht, and sometimes we go on little journey's in it. Some places we may go to are in the States, or even just out on the lake, we out the anchor out and away we go. Then we have our seadoo boat which fits about 12 people and can go nice and fast. We usually use that boat to go to the beach, or just out for a little spin. Both of our boats are on Lake Erie.

That is what I like to do in the Summer.

But Summer has a down side, it doesn't last forever. Soon enough it's September and it's time to go back to school. And that's when it all ends...
Life Lesson: Enjoy the Summer while it lasts!

T is for Tests!

"Don't forget to study for ALL four of your tests!" My mother shouted. And all that was running through my head was "Oh my goodness, how am I going to pass all of these tests?" "And why do teachers do this to us, do they expect us to pass every test with flying colours, even if we have one almost EVERY day of the week, why don't they spread them out?!" "UGH!"
I find that tests can be very stressful if you don't prepare properly for them, so I try and study as much as I can, so I do well. But then, if you participate in other out of school activities then it gets harder, you don't have as much time to study, and you're always running around trying to get ready for whatever it is that you have to do, and trying to study at the SAME TIME. Like how are you supposed to balance that? And when teachers cram all the tests into one week, then it's even better, because you get to try and study for like 4 tests AND get ready for what you need to do. SERIOUSLY!
So pretty much, I think balancing everything you need to do PLUS studying can be difficult. And then when your mother gives you a huge long list of chores to do, which just adds on to your big list of things to do, it's even worse.
Soon enough, it is midnight and you're still trying to study and finish all of your chores, as your mother is telling you to go to bed. I find that hard to cope with, and it totally stresses me out.
And finally the day of the first test comes, and your body starts to tremble and you’re trying to breathe right before the test. Now it's right in front of you. The clock is ticking, and ticking! Your pencil breaks, and you don't have an eraser, what are you going to do? But really it doesn't and you keep writing and writing until finally the last question. DONE! Finally you’re finished.
Two days later it's back in front of you with a nice big red 90% on the front page right beside YOUR name. It makes you feel great!

"Mom, can you please come and sign this test, I tried my hardest!" "Well done, she says." As she reminds you to study for the three other tests, and she tells you that you have practice, and a big long list of chores to do. "Here we go again!" I think to myself.

Life Lesson: Never give up!

F is for Friends.

"EMELIE, GIVE ME SWEATER BACK NOW!"
Wilks screamed at me as Chrissy braided my hair.

Friends are a great thing. They are people who you can tell anything you want, and they are just fun to be around.
Wilks and Christine, are two of my best friends. Although Chrissy is brand new to the school it seems as if she's been here forever, and I was brand new last year. And it's as if we've all known eachother for life!
We have tonnes of fun together,we always have something to complete, and something to laugh at!

Just last weekend we decided we'd hangout, with some other people as well such as, Hannah and Brenna and Emilie V. So the 6 of us decided we'd try going to a dance near Christine's since we were right by, knowing that some other people we knew were going to be there we went. Before we went, we had like one slice of pizzza, which really didn't fill us, but it was time to leave for the dance! It was from 7 - 10. It was very fun and there were lots of people. When we got home, we reallly wanted to go in the hottub, so we went in, unfortunately it was only 87 degrees, leaving us to freeze in the cold water, PLUS it was snowing EW! While we did that, we broke the lid of the hottub. Chrissy's dad wasn't very impressed, he told us not to break anything else! So we went up stairs. One of us had this brilliant idea to fill the bathtub with really hot water, and all of us jumped in, soon enough there was water EVERYWHERE. Suddenly there was a knock at the door, he father again. "Girls, clean up in here, andd DON'T trash any other rooms." He said as he headed to bed. So we cleaned up and put our pj's on. Everything was great, but then we were hungry. we went down stairs and we ate like 1000000000 pieces of pizza! It was crazy! We finally went back upstairs, and played around on laptops for a while, took some pictures! Most of us fell asleep. But then at 3, everyone was up again. Some people were really grumpy, and others were scared out of their minds! We were up a little longer, but soon enough everyone was sleeping again.

Morning came, and we were really hungry, AGAIN! We really wanted cinnamin rolls, so we decided to make some. Chrissy turned the oven on, and started to put the rolls on a pan. When the oven beeped we opened it. WHOOOOSH, a huge cloud of smoke came out of the oven and we finally realized we left the pizza boxes in there. They were burning! We quickly through them out the door. We definately trashed Chrissy's house!

We have really great times together, whether they are tough, or fun, they always turn out amazing! I'm looking forward to going to her cottage this weekend, and I can't wait to see what adventures we go through!

Life Lesson: Friends are the best things you can have, but choose them wisely!

M is for March Break!

"Have a great March Break everyone!" Mme Radler said as we bolted for the door at 3:15 on March 12.
Who doesn't love MARCH BREAK?! Well I know that I love it. Two weeks of complete relaxation, whether your out having fun in the sun or just kicking it on the couch, it's always a great time.

"Emelie get in the car already" My mother shouted at 2:00am. It was WAY too early for me, but up I got, dragging my bags behind me. I reached the car! My plan was to sleep until we got to the Buffalo Airport, but my sister, as excited as she was decided she'd sing along with her iPod. Leaving me, trying to fall asleep, but really I couldn't because there was such a horrible noise. So, I never got to sleep, but we had finally arrived at the Airport, just in time to stand in a huge line up. Awesome. The good thing about when my family goes on vacation, we always travel with friends. This time there was a total of like 20 of us. So as we went through securtiy they ended up being behind us. Fortunately we got through everything fast and safely, leaving us with about a 2 hour wait sitting in chairs. Even more fun, but with all of us together, it actually was. Time flied and soon we were off. We arrived in Fort Lauderdale. The cruise was leaving the next day so we had a day to do whatever we wanted. Which the only thing I could think of was SHOPPING, we went to the mall and stayed there until closing, then went back to the hotel and slept.
In the morning we had some breakfast and soon it was time to board THE OASIS OF THE SEAS! Only the biggest cruise ship in the world!! My friends and I were SUPER excited to board.

This is it, the moment of truth, the time we board! The ship was marvelous, and we had one of the biggest suites. Although I was very tired, I was ready to explore. The ship had a sports deck,a skating rink, theatres, pools, an arcade, clubs, a boardwalk with a carousel, and many more. There were lots to do on sea days (days where we were at sea) and lots to do when we reached the ports. On this particular cruise, we visited St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Nassau in the Bahamas.
In St. Thomas all of the girls went shopping, and all of the guys went to Black Beard's Castle. We had lots of fun!
In St. Maarten we also went shopping. Which was quite amusing, there were many great sites.
In the Bahamas we went to the Atlantis Hotel, where many celebrities stay, there were many cool things to see, and amazing glass sculptures.
All of the ports were exciting and beautiful.

I did so many things on this cruise, it was incredible!I will remember it forever!
I had the time of my life!

"Welcome back, did everyone have a good March Break?" Mme Radler said as we shoved our way through the classroom door bright and early on a MONDAY morning, everyone tired and not very excited to be back sitting in a classroom all day.
March Break is over, but now we have SUMMER VACATION to look forward to!

Life Lesson: Be greatful an enjoy everything you have.

B is for Birthdays!

Birthdays!
Everyone has one, and everyone loves to celebrate them! But everyone especially loves when it's THEIR birthday.

13 years ago, on March 2nd 1997 at around 6:00pm, I was born! And it just so happens that that is today! I'm so excited to be turning 13.

For my birthday my Nonna and Nonna come over, and my Nonna usually cooks my favourite meal, and since my mother's birthday is the day after mine we celebrate together so that my Nonna and Nonno don't have to drive another 40 minutes back and forth to celebrate again the next day. I love to spend my birthday with my family, and we always have an enjoyable time. I especially love to open presents!

That's it! PRESENTS!
Presents are one of the funnest parts of a birthday! But I never know what I want! Everyone is always asking what I want for my birthday, and my answer stays the same EVERY time. Both sets of my Grandparents has given up and have decided to just give me money for my birthdays, which is okay with me! This birthday so far, I have gotten a guitar, a real leather jacket, money, clothes, perfume and cream and foamy hand sanitizer that smells amazing, but I have quite a few more presents to open still, which I cannot wait to open! Presents are a lot of fun to open, and I am always very eager to open mine! I love presents! :)

Another great thing about birthdays is the cake! For my birthday I always want the perfect cake, one with lots of pink and that is really pretty! This birthday I didn't get to pick my cake, so I am hoping my mom ordered one that is really amazing. Even though I don't even like cake, I still eat it on my birthday! Icecreamn cake is my favourite, so at my dad's that is what we get, but at my mom's everyone loves the rich, mouth watering taste of a freshly baked cakes. Birthday cakes, are yummy treats!

Birthday's are alot of fun, and are always entertaining!

My birthday's are always super special to me, and hopefully they are to you too!

S is for Serena Williams.

S. Williams 6 3 5
vs.
J. Henin 4 6 2

Born on September 26, 1981. Serena Jameka Williams.

Serena is 1 of 4 children of Richard and Oracene Williams. When they were all very young, their parents took them to the poor and even sometimes violent LA suburbs of Compton.

Who knew what the future would bring for her.

Serena began playing the game of tennis at a young age, for fun. Soon enough her father wanted her and her older sister Venus Williams to excel at the sport. Her father, Richard Williams began coaching the two of them. They began playing against one another and training hard.At the age of 4 and a half Serena won her first tournament. She played 49 tournaments before the age of 10 winning 46 out of the 49. Throughout her childhood, Serena`s name was at the top of the amateur ranks list, and by the time she reached the age of 14 she had turned pro, but because of her age she had to play in non-WTA tournaments. Her first professional tournament was the Bell Challenge in Quebec. Unfortunately, she was outsted within an hour.

Today, you may know Serena as the number ONE ranked player in women`s tennis. When she walks onto the court, with her intimidating amount of confidence, you can tell she is ready to win. Serena is at the top of the charts!

She has won a total of 12 Grand Slam titles, and many other tournaments. Serena works very hard to win all of these tournaments. With training on the tennis court, to working out in the gym. A tennis player needs to stay fit, and stay positive, no matter what state they are in.

Serena Williams is not only great in singles, but with the help of her sister Venus they have had great success in doubles as well.

Serena has had many great experiences in her life and even more to come!

S. Williams 6 3 6
vs.
J. Henin 4 6 2

Serena has done it again, she has won her 12 Grand Slam title, this one the Australian Open.

T is for Tennis!

"40 - 0.

It's still my serve, one more point and I win it all, the prize money, the pride, the number one raking in the world!"
Tennis! Of course.

I absolutely adore tennis, it is my passion, and my favourite thing to do in the whole entire world.

I started playing tennis quite a while ago, and have loved it since the very beggining, although when I started I wasn't the greatest tennis player around. I don't even remember what it was that began my journey of tennis, but to this day I am so very thankful for whatever that was.
Everyone in my family plays, and we are all members of a tennis club. The club has 6 har-tru outdoor courts, and 6 dyna-cushion courts that are available all year round.
Which I think is really great.

My sister and I both play tennis competitively and we also play as doubles partners. Our inspiration are the Williams sisters. Serena and Venus Williams.
We plan on becoming professional tennis players in only just a few years. The two of us play and train everyday, I find it extremely useful to have a sister that also plays tennis, because I have someone to play matches against and practice with.

Serena Williams is my biggest inspiration, she has won a total of 12 Grand Slam titles.Serena is the number 1 ranked player in women's tennis. She has a sister named Venus, who also plays tennis. They are doubles partners. They grew up playing together, and against one another.

Which I think is just like my sister and I!

I am really excited to see what the future has for me!

"ACE! She's done it again! Her 12 Grand Slam title! Now the number one ranked player in women's tennis, Emelie."

V is for Vacation!

Okay so, March Break....you know the break in the middle of March!

"Emelie, Alex, Jason, make sure all of your bags are packed and ready to go we are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning!" That would be something that mother would say the night before we leave. "Emelie, Alex, Jason, GET UP WE'RE LEAVING!" Is something she would say the morning of the day we leave.

So now you're probably like, what in the world is she talking about!? Well this March Break, my family and I are going on a "family vacation," our sixth cruise, and I'm TOTALLY and UTTERLY excited! We always have a great time, we even go with friends! Like, this cruise there are 26 of us going together! Most of us are on the same flight, staying in the same hotel, and staying on the same floor on the ship! I find it a lot of fun when we go with friends, but then it's also fun to meet new people on the cruise!

Even though I have no idea where this cruise will be taking me, I am still really excited!

But plane rides, totally make me nervous, even though i've flown soo many times, my tummy starts to turn and my ears POP! It's insane. And like in the airport, it's super scary, like going through customs, like what if they take my stuff away! And even worse, what if they lose MY luggage :(
Now that would be absolutely terrible, like I wouldn't enjoy my vacation because I love my clothes!

The ship that we are going on is THE biggest ship in the world, and my family and I will be sharing THE biggest room on the ship! I am SO excited. We get to go to some exciting shows, and go swimming in the ocean, see many cool places, and lots more! OH, and one really cool thing, there is a zipline on the ship, and it goes across the WHOLE ENTIRE ship!

Have I mentioned that I'm REALLY excited?!

So Marchbreak, a family vacation! A cruise! I'm excited! :)

L is for Laur!

Laur ryhmes with dinosaur.

In the beginning there was a girl, her name was Laur. (Which is short for Laurel.)
She sat in the front row of the classroom, with her head held high.
The first French class ever, we were partnered up.Laurel decided that she did not want to be my partner so she joined another group, leaving me all alone in the dark corner of the classroom. From that day on, I was terrified of that girl! I cleared the halls and, didn't say much in class.

Laurel still chose not to speak to me. Until, one day, our grade six teacher decided to put us beside one another in the seating arrangements. All that was going through my head was "Oh wonderful, what is going to happen?" After the desks were moved, and we were settled in, I was stuck in between Tommy and Laurel. Tommy decided to tell Laurel that if she punched me, it wouldn't hurt. So all throughout the day, I was being punched. Laurel, leaving me to go home with a few bruises on my arm. I thought it was terribly painful, Laurel and Tommy found it quite humourous.

Since we sat beside one another, we talked a bit, and then we started being partners, and talking a little bit more. Soon enough we were partners for EVERYTHING! And we even started hanging out, outside of the classroom! (Can you believe that!) I guess we could say, I mainly followed her around, carrying her books to class, making sure her hair was perfect, and making sure she had EVERYTHING organized, but now I think it is safe to say that she is now doing that for me. :)

Today, Laurel and I are BFFLE's (Best Friends For Like EVER!)
I LOVE LAUREL. :D

Ps. This is a bit of a dramatization. :D

A Is For Alex! (:

Today, Alex slapped me across the face. I ran at her with a bat, running as fast as I could, unfortunately when I took a swing..I ended up hitting my mother instead! Can you say BAD DAY!
I met Alex the day I was born, i'm not sure I liked her back then, but I guess I could say I do now.

Yes, Alex is my sister!
She's 15 years old, and can be SUPER moody..but I love her anyways. She and I share some of the same interests, such as tennis, music, and spending time with friends and family. When we play tennis, I always win, so we haven't played against one another in a while. And for music, we have totally different taste! I like bands/artists such as Stereos, Lights and Taylor Swift, she likes bands/artists such as The Academy Is..., Fall Out Boy and Dallas Green.

Alex is really smart, and likes to compare marks (or just brag about how she got a higher mark.) Although my Mom tells me not to worry about what Alex says it still bothers me, so this term I am going to get even higher marks than her!

Some people think that Alex and I look alike, but both of us agree that we look totally different! She has auburn hair, I have brown hair, she has freckles, I don't, she wears glasses all of the time and is short, I don't wear glasses all the time, and I am taller than her.

Alex and I have our differences, but we are close as sisters!

A is for Alex!

Life Lesson: Love your family no matter what.
